HIV affects many parts of the world, but it is most common in Sub-Saharan Africa. Within one year (between 2009 and 2010) there were 30,000 new HIV testing facilities due to the increase number of people being diagnosed with HIV. There were about 1.2 million deaths caused by HIV/AIDS compared to The United States which had 20,000 deaths. There is clearly a large difference on how the two areas treat the people with HIV by looking at the deaths. Although the death rate has lessened in Sub-Saharan Africa there are still thousands dying.
